The Devil Wears Prada 2 movie review: The movie is an entertaining light comedy, filled with funny scenes. The old characters-Miranda Priestly, Andrea Sachs, Emily Charlton, and Nigel Kipling return. But they have aged and they are starting to soften up and calming down a little. Attributable to the internet and an internet scandal, Miranda appears jaded and tired. But she perseveres to somehow keep the magazine afloat.

Andrea Sachs starts her job as Feature Editor for Runway Magazine
Emily has branched out at Dior, while Andrea succeeds as a journalist. She attends an awards show, getting ready to accept a journalism award. But Andrea and her whole newsroom are laid off via text. Miranda’s boss, Irv Ravitz, hires Andrea as Feature Editor for Runway Magazine without informing Miranda. He is aware of Andrea’s videos, impressive journalism writing, and recent award. Her strong journalistic skills led to her sudden job offer at Runway Magazine.
New fresh faces join Runway Magazine
Shocked to see Andrea at Runway Magazine, Miranda displays skepticism about Andrea’s skills. But there appears to be many changes at the Runway Magazine office. The corporate culture has changed into multiracial employees, and not many look thin or fashionable. New fresh faces include a nerdy Chinese girl, a fat gay young man, a black fashionable girl, and other ethnic young people who are computer swavvy.
The magazine has also gone digital. Everyone works on their iPhones and laptops, which has also forced Miranda to adapt to circumstances by making her own personal changes, even though she appears to be struggling at times. It is also feared that future fashion models will be AI models.
Old friends reunite and new friends are formed
Andrea is still friends with the Art Director, Nigel. She easily makes new friends with the young people at the office probably because she relates with them, or their awkward nerdy appearance, personality, and their eagerness to please. She used to be that young awkward intern who didn’t fit in inside Runway Magazine’s old corporate culture.
Even though she still struggles to work with Miranda, their relationship is now easier because Miranda is desperate to do anything to save Runway Magazine, keep it afloat, and keep her Editor-in-Chief position. It also appears that Andrea and Emily have become friends because they have grown up and moved on with their lives. Moreover, the Runway Magazine employees appear to be more easygoing. Andrea is given a small office space, which looks like a broom closet or a storage room, usually given to a lower-level employee. Apparently, Miranda continues to treat Andrea the same way to belittle her.
Competitive workaholic women clash
As I was watching the film, I noticed similar scenes to the movie Cruella because both movies have to do with fashion, elites, and struggling people. I thought that Miranda would retire or resign, and Andrea would take over as Editor-in-Chief of Runway because this movie is about new changes for a better and more profitable future.
But Miranda had no interest in retiring or leaving her position. She is a workaholic and she loves her job, even though she appears to be happily married and caring for her twin daughters. Her twin daughters are probably adults because they weren’t a part of the movie. Furthermore, Andrea also appears to be a workaholic journalist because she never married and she doesn’t have kids. But there is a budding romance between Andrea and an Apartment Building Developer, Peter, in which Andrea finally decides to act on starting a relationship by the end of the movie. Miranda and Emily appear to be a little catty, bitter and competitive with each other for the same job.
Andrea works her plan to save Runway Magazine
They all go to Milan Fashion Week, where Lady Gaga performs at the Runway Gala. Nigel takes over Miranda’s speech, so that Miranda, Andrea, and Emily can work on Andrea’s plan to save Runway Magazine. Andrea finds a competitive buyer for Miranda so that Emily and Benji cannot take over Runway. Irv’s son, Jay, becomes Miranda’s boss after his father unexpectedly dies, and he accepts Sasha Barnes buying Runway’s parent company, Elias-Clarke.
Back in NYC, Miranda gets her promotion from Sasha Barnes. Nigel tells Andrea that he had asked Irv to hire her as Feature Editor. Miranda upgrades Andrea’s office to a nicer office.
Directed by David Frankel, written by Aline Brosh McKenna, and produced by Wendy Finerman, this 2026 movie, The Devil Wears Prada 2, is based on a novel, Characters by Lauren Weisberger. It starred Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Justin Theroux, Kenneth Branaugh, Stanley Tucci, Lucy Liu, and other actors.
A fun and entertaining movie with a modern twist
I enjoyed this movie because it was funny, entertaining, and it had a modern spin from the first Devil Wears Prada. Life is constantly changing, and many businesses have dramatically changed in 2026. This Devil Wears Prada 2 movie moves with the times to make Runway Magazine more current in order to survive in the current times of computerized businesses, Influencers, Vloggers, Bloggers, and online magazines. Runway becomes digital to better compete with global businesses and fashions, as well as attract viewership.
The main characters have also aged with Runway, and some characters’ personality has also changed, due to the effects of their work experience and life challenges. New contemporary characters are added to Runway to make the corporate culture more realistic with current society. The new and young characters bring a certain entertaining freshness to the Runway corporate culture in order to revive Runway Magazine as well as the Devil Wears Prada 2 movie.
